Posterior Tibial Tendonitis

Why does My arch hurt after walking for exercises?

Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction is one of the most common problems of the foot and ankle. It occurs when the posterior tibial tendon becomes inflamed or torn. As a result, the tendon may not be able to provide stability and support for the arch of the foot resulting in a flat foot and potential loss or at least limit of function.
Orthotics can help compensate for this problem.  Also, change in shoe gear can help to reduce pain.  Make sure that you should be stretching every day to improve motion in your back, hamstrings and lower legs.  If no improvement then schedule an appointment with a Podiatrist for examination and x-rays of your feet.  Please call 440-946-5858 to schedule an appointment.
